Hannah Reed writes Brussels Keto. She has eaten low-carb for years, reads the research rather than the hype, and writes plainly for people doing keto in Belgium. She is not a doctor, and nothing here is medical advice.
I started this site because most of what I found about keto sat at one of two extremes. Either it promised miracles, or it warned you off in a panic. Neither matched what I saw living it day to day, or what the actual studies said when I sat down and read them. So I write the version I wanted: the practical answer first, the evidence where it matters, and an honest word when the evidence is thin.
I write about what I have tried and what the research supports, and I try to keep the two clearly separated. When a claim rests on a trial or a review, I say so and name it. When something is my own experience or a sensible rule of thumb, I say that instead. When the honest answer is “we do not really know yet”, I would rather tell you that than dress up a guess.
A few things you should know about me. I am not a clinician, a dietitian, or any kind of medical professional, and I do not pretend to be. The Belgian slant is real: I write with local supermarkets, restaurants and habits in mind, because that is where I am. And I have no products to sell you. There are no sponsorships, no affiliate deals steering what I recommend, and no supplement I am quietly hoping you will buy.
If you want to reach me, you can write to privacy@brusselsketo.com.
Everything on Brussels Keto is general information, not medical advice. Keto does not suit everyone. If you are pregnant, on medication, or managing a condition such as diabetes, speak to a doctor or dietitian before making big changes to how you eat.
