Brussels Keto is a small, independent site about the ketogenic diet and low-carb living, written for people doing it in Belgium. The aim is simple: give you the practical answer first, back it with evidence where the evidence exists, and be honest when it does not.
Who writes it
Everything here is written by Hannah Reed. Hannah has eaten low-carb for years, reads the research rather than the headlines, and writes plainly. She is not a doctor and does not claim to be. You can read her fuller bio on the author page.
There is one writer, one voice, and one standard. If you have ever found a health blog where the tone lurches from post to post because a dozen freelancers wrote it, this is meant to be the opposite of that.
How claims are sourced
Keto is a health topic, so I try to be careful with it.
- When a claim rests on research, I say so and name the study or review, so you can check it yourself.
- When the evidence is genuinely thin, I say that too, rather than papering over it with confidence I do not have.
- When something is experience or a sensible rule of thumb rather than a proven fact, I frame it that way.
- Figures such as net carbs per 100g are drawn from standard nutrition data and are given as guides, since brands and portions vary.
I would rather write “the trials that exist suggest” than promise a result the science cannot support. Weight loss and metabolic health are areas where overclaiming does real harm, and I have no interest in adding to it.
Independence: no sponsorships, no hidden deals
Brussels Keto is independent. There are no sponsored posts, no paid placements, and no affiliate arrangements steering what gets recommended. If a cheap supermarket fat does the job better than a boutique jar, that is what you will read, because nobody is paying me to say otherwise.
The site does show advertising to cover its costs. Those ads are served automatically and are kept separate from the writing; they do not influence what I recommend or how I describe it.
This is not medical advice
This is the important part, so it gets its own heading. Everything on Brussels Keto is general information about the ketogenic diet, not medical advice. Keto does not suit everyone. If you are pregnant, on medication, or managing a condition such as diabetes, epilepsy, kidney or liver disease, speak to a doctor or dietitian before making big changes to how you eat. Nothing here replaces a conversation with a professional who knows your history.
